With our first guest lecture of the year, on Tuesday the 4th of February, Dr Boot provided the students with a graspable insight into the key issues and strategies within the future of banking. Pointing out the essential questions to ask, he provoked the students to think beyond the mainstream conception of Fintech:
What are the main drivers of change in the financial services industry?
How will information and communication technology (ICT) reshape the financial services industry?
What can we expect about bank business models going forward?
Setting out the conceptual framework of banking, he enabled students to grasp the future role of banks in the context of technology.
